Groundbreaking card game KeyForge announces online version 10 years after its heydey (from Wargamer) If you remember the card game KeyForge - where you buy decks that have been randomly generated and play the decks instead of building your own - you now will be able to play online! Actually, there are online fan made versions of the game, but the "official" one will be crowdfunding soon for a release...sometime? In my opinion, this is way too late to be doing this, but the crowdfunding campaign will show if there's still a market for this.
PAX doubles down on Unplugged growth with new Houston show – just 12 days after Origins (from Board Game Wire) Pax Unplugged has grown to be the second largest tabletop gaming convention in the US, so it's only natural that they would want to expand to a second location. They've announced that in 2027, Houston will be hosting a version of Pax Unplugged...in June. Gross. Y'all can have fun there, I already have to deal with too humid summers.
This free Warhammer 40k fan game is a slapstick Space Marine deathmatch (from Wargamer) Grant Howitt from Rowan, Rook and Decard has made a small skirmish minis game called "Falling Angels", where players are Space Marines that bring expendable humans to help them fight...only to see them killed in "support" of the war effort. The game looks like a ton of fun, and is even free to download! (BTW, it will show up as $4 in your cart, but you can change it to $0)
D&D’s ‘Ravenloft’ Series In The Works At Netflix, While Faerun’s Realms Are Forgotten (from Bell of Lost Souls) Netflix has announced that they are making a D&D live action show based on the Ravenloft setting! But will this show actually be created? There's been a long line of announcements about D&D TV shows, with very little to show for it. Ravenloft is very hip right now, so it makes sense why they would be focusing on that setting, I just doubt we'll ever get around to seeing anything.
Other TCGs "are great" for Magic The Gathering and create "some of our big booms", says Wizards' Gavin Verhey (from Wargamer) Saying the quiet part out loud, the designers behind Magic: The Gathering aren't worried about all of the TCGs that have been popping up lately. They have the numbers to show that this increased visibility of TCGs does nothing but draw people back to Magic eventually.

SPACE KING: The Board Game (Kickstarter) If you are a fan of this show, chances are you are aware of "Space King" the animation series that is a parody of Warhammer 40K. They've now made a dungeon crawler board game set in this world, and there are plenty of minis to get people excited about.
Crypts & Dungeons (Kickstarter) Czepeku, the popular map making site, has another campaign out to support their "Architect" tool, this time adding Crypts & Dungeons. You'll be able to create new maps, modify them to suit your needs, all for a one time fee - this is outside of their subscription model! I've fallen in love with their maps recently, so I'm digging this.
Catvale: The Board Game with Claws! (Kickstarter) Kitties! This board game looks to be an open world/sandbox style adventure game where you try and make it as a cat in a fantasy setting through many different options. Buy and sell items, complete quests, etc - the artwork looks great and the components look top notch. There's even plushies!!
Dark Conspiracy – A Horror RPG in the Modern Age (BackerKit) Long time RPG fans may have heard of this game, but the people behind the popular Traveller RPG are back now making "Dark Conspiracy", a horror RPG. If you are a fan of darker games like Vampire: The Masquerade, then this type of game might be right up your alley. If you've never heard of it, take a look but personally, there's probably other games that do this type of thing already sitting on your bookshelf (or at your local shop!).
Rollacrit's Con Bag of Holding (Kickstarter) Not too long ago, I reviewed the regular Bag of Holding from Rollacrit. We've also had the CEO of Rollacrit on the showto talk about the company, so we are big fans. Philip and I also are/were holders of the original ThinkGeek Con Bag of Holding, and used them for MANY MANY conventions, so we're super excited to see Rollacrit bring back this smaller form factor bag. We both highly recommend this bag to anyone that regularly attends nerdy cons like Gen Con, PAX Unplugged, even other non-gaming related cons! You won't be disappointed!
Faster, Purple Worm! Everybody Dies, Vol. 2 (Kickstarter) Based on the popular show by Beadle & Grimm's called "Faster, Purple Worm, Kill Kill", this second collection of adventures is designed to kill all of your players in a short amount of time (no, seriously). These adventures are more about the comedy in how the players meet their inevitable demise. Vol. 1 has been out for awhile now, and now the company is funding their Vol. 2 book, with a lot of new tricks up their sleeve - including an adventure about what happens after those players shuffle off this mortal coil?
Game Toppers - Game Mat Bazaar (Kickstarter) Another year, time for another Game Toppers kickstarter! This one expands the already exhaustive game mat library to include some really cool artwork - especially a couple of modern-city style maps for miniatures players. Also, there's a new game mat carousel that looks right up my alley.
Snap Ships Tactics: Massive Expansion + Reprint (Kickstarter over, but late pledges availble) Fan of the show Beetle wouldn't let me live down this list if it didn't include the latest Snap Ships Tactics campaign. Granted, the Kickstarter is over, but you can still late pledge. This game, about building space ships out of Lego-type materials and then fighting in space a la "X-wing Miniatures Game" style of play is super fun, and this campaign adds new ships along with bigger capital ships into the mix to really ramp things up.
Murder of crows (Gamefound) I enjoy some good word play, so a game called murder of crows about a murder of crows investigating a murder....of crows? You son of a bitch, I'm in. The artwork in this RPG looks great, and it seems designed around randomly generating the mystery behind the said murder, so it's a game that you could run with little prep the next time you need a filler RPG game night.
Munchkin 5.5e RPG (BackerKit) This RPG might as well be labeled the "Dirtbags RPG". Taking the popular artwork and theme from the Munchkin card game, putting it on the D&D5.5e game system, and you get a version of the worlds greatest RPG that's ripe with all kinds of puns and inside jokes. Also, there's a dungeon adventure that is being funded, "The Deadliest Dungeon" that I'm sure is prone to chew up and spit out a couple of unsuspecting heroes.
